Add a Little Bling to Your Day
Good morning! I was supposed to get this post up before the day began, but, no internet yesterday when I had the time to get this post up. So I am dragging, which is not all that different for me. I tend to waffle between totally organized and completely fallen apart. It just depends on the day of the week. Usually I am on the ball on Monday, rip rarin’ to go, and by Friday, I’m a hot mess. I live for the weekends, time with the kids and hubby, spending days with my loves and doing whatever is needed or desired to be done.
So today, I am sharing my effort of self health and trying to cut off my soda habit. I am a soda lover and Dr. Pepper is my love. I began to notice that I would drink more water if it’s in front of me. Instead of going to grab a glass or can of soda, I’d go for the water, cause when I’m working, its pretty much whatever is fast and easy. I don’t like having glasses of anything on my desk, cue in dreamy sequence of watching an entire glass of iced coffee spill over my keyboard, and you can get the idea. Plus, unless it’s freezing, the condensation from the glass puddles, which, for a paper crafter is a disaster waiting to happen. Just tip your finished layout in that puddle and the end result isn’t pretty.
So I started buying these double tumblers with straws. They are pretty easy to clean, and if you only drink water out of them, not terrible to get clean. Only, you know it, I’m cheap, and I bought them at dollar stores, or 5 below. And, they come in pretty colors, but …. boring!!!!!
So here I am, with a sticker initial, ribbon of gems, and my tumbler. Add a little bling to your day!
I got the ribbon and initial at the craft store. They were only a couple bucks. The gems are on what feels like a duct tape kind of backing.
I peeled off the backing without touching the sticky part, and lined it up on the cup before peeling off the rest and smoothing and pushing the tape to adhere to the cup.
It was pretty easy to then wrap the gems around the cup, adjusting while I pulled the tape to be tightly adhered on, and then trimmed off the excess tape, which wasn’t much. It does go around and up the back a little, but I’m ok with that.
The cup is done, it’s unique and fun! I like that the gems kind of give you a grippy place to pick up the cup, and this is actually hand-washable. Although I will tell you that the minions have stuck it in the top rack of the dishwasher and it came out just fine.
