Awesome Wreath Hanger
So I like to make wreaths, and I only have one front door.
I don’t have a whole bunch of places to hang these wreaths.
And, I love the idea of hanging them on a pole on my tables etc.
So I thought.
And I thought. I knew I could make something that worked to hang this.
I came up with this awesome wreath hanger, and it was really easy.
All you need are a couple of blocks of wood.
Mine measure 1 block – 3.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches.
Another block is 4 x 4 x 1 inch.
1 dowel rod that is 16 inches.
1 hook – package of two sold (Now I can make another hanger!)
a plastic bead
1 button cap (These are little wood plugs to fill a hole.)
a couple screws, some black paint, a little silicone glue, a little wood glue.
I drilled a hole about 1 inch around into the bigger block so I could fit my dowel down inside of it.
I added a little wood glue, put the dowel in, then screwed through the bottom of the block to hold the down in place.
I then added the smaller block, and put two screws – in different places – to keep the blocks together.
Then I added the hook on with a couple screws.
And added a larger screw at the top of the dowel.
I added silicone glue to the bead, adding it to the top of the dowel. The screw helped keep the bead in place.
I finished it with a little wooden button to fill the second hole in the bead.
She’s all ready for paint!
Just give her a couple good coats of a $.99 can of glossy black, and she’s ready for display!
Look at her! She’s just waiting for you to dress her up!
She looks O.K. with my old berry wreath on her.
She can hold a wreath that’s about 12 inches. And she’s not wobbly, because of the blocks at the bottom.
I can’t wait to add this in to my decor! Maybe I’ll jump on making more, just so I can have more wreaths around the house.
What a great craft for you to work on!
