Brains, Brains, BRAAAIINNNSS cough cough
Sorry, my throat was a little froggy and I was trying to clear it. Yes, I have BRAINS cupcakes. Brains, Brains, BRAAAIINNNSS! You’ll be a real smart mom if you create these for your Halloween party. How fun, and delicious too!
After I made my cupcakes, I whipped up some canned- yes- canned frosting. If you follow my steps, you can have the easiest icing that doesn’t taste store bought. For reals even!
First, I add a canister of cream cheese frosting, any manufacture, just not the whipped stuff. Put your mixer paddle on and begin beating the icing. Add in about 1 cup of 10x (confectioners) sugar and then put your mixer on it’s highest speed for about 5 minutes. The result is fluffy creamy and superb icing. It’ll be a little thicker for you to pipe it as well. For these cupcakes, I put just a teeny tiny dab of pink color, and then let it whip.
To make these cute brains. Allow your cupcakes to cool.
Then using a round tip and piping bag ( you can buy these at pretty much any craft store), Pipe on an oval mound across the middle of the cupcake.
Then make a loop of frosting at the top of the mound.
On one side, put a zigzag that goes from the side loop to the bottom of the cupcake.
Do the other side of the cupcake and your brain is complete.
I also put in some simple picks for fun. I printed names out on some cardstock, and cut it out, then looped it around bamboo skewers, and topped it with a black gem. Very easy and cute.
Aren’t these fun!
I’m sure you can come up with more fun names then just the few I created. Have a fun party!
