Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip
In our house, the chocolate chip cookie is only over shadowed by chocolate chip cookie dough. How about a delicious chocolate chip cookie dough dip that emulates the flavor but is safe to eat!
We just love it and often would rather have that then the baked cookies. I keep cookie dough frozen in the freezer and have caught my kids occasionally sneaking a dough ball to snack on.
I have had the thought of this dip in my head for ages, and wasn’t sure what I would add instead of adding raw eggs to the dough.
Raw eggs just wouldn’t be good to have, and they are easily replaced with cream or half&half to create a soft, luscious dough that is creamy and chocolate and wonderful.
I paired my dip with mini pretzels and love the sweet and salty aspect of the snack together.
This dip takes very little time to whip up, and will be a hit with your family, friends, and neighbors.
I was thinking with the holidays coming up, what a great addition to a party it would be. And it’s pretty inexpensive too, just grab a bag of pretzels to take along with you.
This recipe makes about 4 cups of dip, and can easily feed 20-30 people.
2 sticks of butter- room temperature
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 cup half & half ( plus extra if needed)
1 teaspoon salt
1 bag mini chocolate chips
small pretzels to serve
In a mixer, cream butter and sugars and salt, add vanilla and half & half slowly to creamed butter. Add flour and if needed add enough half & half by the teaspoon until mixture is creamy and slightly loose. Mixture should be easily scooped and not too thick.
Add in mini chocolate chips.
Serve in bowl with mini pretzels, pita chips, graham crackers or cookies.
