Christmas Morning Rolls

DSC_0035

I think that saying goes something like “Many hands make the work light”. I love this idea during the holidays with my family. I love to involve the kids in making and baking our holiday foods. I want the traditions to continue on after I’m too old to help. And I’m hoping too that my kids pass these right on down to their kids too. Keeping traditions alive. Christmas morning, we get up, everyone brushes their hair, face and hands and we meet in the kitchen for coffee and milk. Once everyone has gotten a drink, we head into the family room to open gifts. After a few hours, everyone is ready for a sweet treat before our big Christmas morning brunch. We sometimes have danishes or donuts, but there is always the treat of something warm from the oven. I created these apple filled cinnamon rolls to have at Christmas this year. They are a cross between a warm apple filled danish and a cinnamon roll. They are rich and heavenly and perfect for our Christmas treat. I also love that Christmas Eve my girls can help me put these rolls together in about 10 minutes, and I can allow them to rise in the fridge, so come morning, I just need to preheat the oven and they will be ready in just a little bit.

Feel free to change this recipe up, and use any other pie fillings: cherry, lemon, blueberry or peach.

Hop on over to the Rhodes Kids Blog to find out how to create these delicious rolls for your Christmas morning.

Hi Kristen! I’m here to say that I made the morning rolls yesterday and everybody loved it. My kids that never want to eat in the morning actually asked for seconds! Thank you so much!
