Dark Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Pretzels

Oh my, a title that has my mouth watering! does that not sound absolutely yummy? Peanut butter, salty sweet combo, dark chocolate. Dark chocolate dipped peanut butter pretzels! It hits all the right buttons for me!

These no bake treats are not a lot of work, and you can make tons to share, believe me, I shared them with everyone I know- well- pretty much. And we still kept some at home.

You need

1.5 cups of creamy peanut butter

5 tablespoons stick butter- softened

3/4 cup of brown sugar ( this makes it especially yummy!)

and 1-1.5 cups of confectioners sugar

later you need mini pretzels, dark chocolate and parchment paper

In a mixing bowl, blend the peanut butter and butter together, then add the brown sugar. After that is mixed well, add your confectioners sugar 1/4 cup at a time, until the mixture is thick and holds it’s shape.

Next, I used two teaspoons to drop the peanut butter mixture onto my small pretzels. Scoop up the filling in one teaspoon and drop it onto the pretzel with the other. If your dough is not as sticky as mine, you could roll marble sized balls and put them on the pretzel.

Add the second pretzel on top, making the filling a sandwich, make sure the pretzels face the correct direction for a pretty sandwich.

After you have used all the filling (you can halve this recipe, mine made an entire bag of pretzels worth) but that’s O.K., it gave me enough to giveaway, because once I tasted them, I kinda didn’t feel like letting anyone else have them! LOL!

Take your pan and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes.

Now the filling is firm, and you can melt your chocolate. I used about a cup of chocolate chips. I use Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips, they are divine, and very rich tasting. I melt my chips in a micro safe bowl, in the microwave for about 30 seconds at a time, stirring between to create an even heating.

You can add shortening to yours, I don’t. I just use the melted chocolate. Now dip a little over half of the pretzel into the chocolate.

Because they are cold, the chocolate will set up within a short time. Then it’s time to take small dainty.. oh who am I kidding, shove that thing in your mouth! Munch and Munch. I spoiled my appetite for dinner that night. Not sad about that at all tho.
