Delicious Delectable Cinnamon Bread
I’m pulling another easy peasy bread idea out for you. One of the minions favorite breads is this cinnamon bread. it’s sweet, rich, filling and oh so yummy. It’s a perfect quick breakfast for them, snack or dessert.
It’s pretty easy stuff to make, you just add some ingredients to frozen bread dough. I like Rhodes dough, it comes in packages of 3 or 5. It gives me the excuse to buy another pack to keep in the freezer, because I make my breads in batches of two. You can cut down the ingredients to make a single loaf. But trust me, you’re gonna need two.
So… whatcha need- is a stick of butter. Yes, real butter. I am trying to cut back, but real butter is better then fake margarine. So use it. The stick stuff. Not the tub of easy spread. Keep that for putting it on the bread after it’s baked.
You’re gonna need-
1 stick butter- about 8 tablespoons ( don’t worry- that’s only 4tbls per loaf of bread)
1 cup cinnamon sugar- I use siagon cinnamon ( tastes like cinnabon cinnamon- not the plain jane cinnamon).
2 loaves of rhodes frozen white bread. yes white, but I guess if you can find it in a light wheat it would be pretty good too.
Take your butta- and melt it in the micro- just so it’s barely melted. it makes it easier to keep in place. you’ll see.
Put that aside and you need a good chopping knife, and a cutting board. Begin by chopping your bread into pieces.
Top your somewhat chopped bread with half your sugar.
And now add most of your butter.
Continue chopping, and add the rest of your cinnamon sugar to the bread.
At this point, you are making sure that the bread is in smallish pieces, coated with the sugar/butter mix.
Gather your loaf pans, and spray them well with cooking spray.
Now allow the bread to rise. You can cover them with a towel or saran wrap, in a warmish place for 2-4 hours. You’ll want your dough to come up about 3/4 of the pan.
See how puffy and fluffy the dough is now.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. And bake them off.
See how beautifully they brown? yum yum
Now I’m going to break your heart. That isn’t the side that goes up. You have to wait until they are still warm, but aren’t burning your fingers to the bone. Then flip them out of their pans.
Ohhhhhh, look at all that gooey goodness!
Nom nom nom… but wait. want to be more decadent- yes- it’s possible!
I had a jar of premade icing open in the fridge. So let’s drown that bread.
Microwave that icing- about 1/2 cup. until it melts. Yes you can do this, it’s not illegal. Are you surprised?
Now drizzle that icing over the bread. Get the minions to do it, they love drizzling.
nope, still needs more. looking good, but not yet.
Ok, ok, now. the hard part. Let the breads cool and the icing set.
I’m just kidding, dig into that baby!
Cut several pieces. turn back and minions will have escaped after nabbing one.
butter it, or don’t. then nom nom nom nom on that!
ps. don’t eat the whole thing by yourself.
