DIY Creatively Designed Clothing
I am always looking for crafty ways to create handmade fashion for the minions. When I was their age, handmade was not popular, but I remember creating T-shirts with handpainting, and making jeans and a jean jacket with Warner Bros. characters on them. Even though back then it wasn’t popular to decorate your own clothes, I got a lot of compliments on my clothes and was often asked to design for others. I still love creating DIY creatively designed clothing and you will see that a lot on this blog.
Nowadays, the minions wear these fashion items to school and their school friends are quite impressed and love the designs that we create. And we still get asked to create items, so I always refer friends here to our blog, so everyone can see the instructions and often step by step photos to see how they were made.
Last year I was asked to create wearables using Cricut Iron On Vinyl and I chose to use the Boho Chic cart, using this fun leopard print heart. After cutting out the heart, I couldn’t bring myself to throw those cut pieces away.
And I definitely wanted an all over look. I added the inside leopard print cuts to the pouch pocket, then I added some of the cuts to the sleeve cuffs too, and I just adore the whole cohesive look to this sweatshirt. It looks like an upscale buy that cost me less then $10 to make. The gold is actually glitter iron-on vinyl that Cricut makes.
If you look closely you can see a little heart in the pocket that I hand cut and added in as a cute little touch.
Leopard Print might not be your style, but you can create your own iron-on designs from hundreds of images, using your Cricut. Just have fun!
