Easy Peasy Chocolate Croissants
One Sunday morning, I was sitting at the table, kind of waking up, and sipping my coffee. I didn’t feel like making a big breakfast. Although my hubby likes a big Sunday breakfast, I am not so much for one.
I couldn’t think of what to make, and was wanting a little something sweet. I remembered I’d had these crescent rolls in the fridge for a while, and I needed to use them up.
I added in some chocolate chips thinking I could attempt a filled croissant with them, and I was amazed at how good these chocolate croissants turned out!
We had just had a sleepover with some teen girls, and these were a big hit!
All you need is one tube of Crescent dough for every four croissants. And a bag of chocolate chips.
Open the tube. Roll out the dough and pull two rectangles apart from each other.
Use a finger to smoosh the perforated line back together between the two triangles.
DUH! I forgot to take a photo of the chips on there. Take about a 1/4 cup of chocolate chips, and put them on half the dough, then pull the other half over them, and pinch the sides of the dough all around on three sides.
I used both milk chocolate and dark chocolate chips, in separate croissants, so I added a chocolate chip to the top of the milk chocolate ones.
I used parchment paper to bake them off. You can get about 9 to a tray. (These make a great breakfast treat!)
Bake them at 400 degrees F. for about 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
Serve hot or cold. The chocolate is ooey and gooey while they are hot.
They are tender, rich, buttery and chocolatey.
These are a divine and super-easy treat for you to make!
