Glitter Backed Marble Magnets
I love adding decor pieces to my girl’s rooms. We spent last summer redoing their rooms to update and make them a little older feeling, since both girls are teenagers.
With new paint and bedding, the rooms were transformed.
However, throughout the year I continue to help them add pieces that brighten and coordinate so that the room feels more pulled together.
They both have dry erase, cork board, and magnetic boards in their rooms. They help them keep organized, while also displaying notes, and awards.
I love that they display their awards, but I would rather hang several magnetic boards than have them use tacks or push pins in my walls.
So, we came up with some fun, glitter backed marble magnets to hang those papers, coordinate with their rooms and be pretty as well!
Here is a link to my Doodlebug glitter.
You can use any sort of glitter you like, I just have a bunch of these from this set and wanted to make rainbow colors.
You will need clear glass marbles, from the Dollar Store.
You will also need some clear nail polish,
and some magnets from the craft store.
You also need a hot glue gun.
Annalise was my helper for the day and was easily able to do this craft with guidance.
Turn the glass marble over, so that the flat side is facing up.
Coat the flat side of the marble with the nail polish, giving it a really nice and thick coating.
Then begin to add a coating of glitter. I do this on a separate sheet of paper so that you can put the extra glitter back in the container.
Liberally apply that glitter for a full coat.
When you have the top glitter coat, add a few drops of the nail polish to the top to set the glitter in place. “
Allow to dry.
Once they are fully dry, add a dollop of hot glue to the center.
Then add a magnet, being careful not to touch the hot glue.
Once the glue is set, they are ready to use.
These are a great way to add color to a magnetic board in your room, or the kitchen fridge!
