Halloween Puffcorn Party Mix
Every Halloween we watch scary movies and shows. Our favorites are spooky old movies like Dracula, or the Wolf man. Sometimes 80’s movies like Freddie or Halloween.
We watch Halloween town, and cute Disney shows, but creepy and scary too.
I try to make it a point to have at least one movie night with the girls and hubby, just to enjoy some family time.
And of course, I have to make some sort of yummy treat to entice the teens to hang out with boring old mom and dad.
I created this recipe, just a few fun ingredients tossed in together to make a sweet and salty snack for movie night., Halloween Puffcorn Party Mix.
I used Puffcorn, pretzels, almond bark ( vanilla chocolate), some halloween colored chocolate candy and halloween sprinkles
You can find Puffcorn in the snack aisle at the grocery store, in with chips and popcorn. It’s a light airy corn snack. If you can’t find it, use regular popcorn.
Around Halloween in most grocery stores, you can find Halloween candy and sprinkles., which are fine to use, if you can’t find single sprinkle colors.
I bought mine at an Amish country market candy store. The Chocklets are just a form of Sixlets, which are available in the party section of craft stores and Walmart. Don’t stress about them, if you can’t find them, add in M&M’s.
In a microwave safe bowl, add in about 2 cups of almond bark chunks. Melt on high about 1 minute at a time, until the bark is melted and smooth. ( stir between heating, and melt at 30 second increments after 2 minutes)
In a bowl, add about 1/2 bag of pretzels, and the bag of Puffcorn. Add the melted almond bark and stir to coat everything well.
Add a sheet of parchment paper to a cookie sheet, and spread out the Puffcorn mixture in a layer.
Begin adding the sprinkles to the still hot mixture, then add the Sixlets chocolate as well.
Make it as colorful as you’d like.
When you are finished, place the pan in a cool spot and allow to harden. When cool, break into chunks.
Store in a a plastic bag for about 1 week.
1 bag Puffcorn
1/2 bag round pretzels
1/2 package of almond bark
Melt almond bark in microwave, add to bowl with Puffcorn and pretzels, spread out on parchment paper, then sprinkle with chocolate candy and sprinkles. Cool, break into chunks and keep in zip baggie.
