Happy National Scrapbook Day 2015!
Today is National Scrapbook Day 2015! This is an “unofficial” holiday that has been celebrated since 1994. It has been celebrated on the first Saturday of May every year since that first celebration.
Today, there will be online scrapbooking crops, and lots of people getting together in person to celebrate this wonderful hobby of preserving our photos and memories.
Kris and I “met” online through scrapbooking, and I have made a lot of other friends over the years because of the hobby. I thought I would gather together some scrapbooking examples and sketches to help with the celebration.
First, here are some layouts from our own Kristen Swain. These are some she shared last year for National Scrapbook Day.
Here are some great sketch ideas for one to many photos from Creating Keepsakes Magazine. They have included a downloadable .PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file for you on their website.
I’m all about the details, techniques, and embellishments when it comes to scrapbooking. I also love ways to get lots of photos onto my layouts. I love this idea from Aly Dosdall on the We Are Memory Keepers website.
Isn’t this a cute idea for a woven ribbon flower using paper and ribbon. It’s from Mandy Harrell of For Scrapping Out Loud. There is a complete step-by-step tutorial. I’m definitely going to be making some of these for one of my next scrapbook layouts.
I love this little washi tape banner from Bonnie of A Golden Afternoon. She used it to decorate cupcakes (LOVE it!), but you could also use this idea for a banner across a scrapbook page.
So there you have it. I’ve shared a few layout ideas and a few embellishment tutorials to get your imagination flowing. Go gather up your scrapbooking supplies and some treasured photos, and have fun capturing your own memories in your scrapbooks.
