Hot Buttered Apple Cider

Well, it’s the holiday season, and yummy apple cider is pretty available right now. And while we’re enjoying parties and such, I didn’t want to forget the kids. While we’re not much for drinking alcoholic drinks, I do love a fun version of a traditional drink. Cider is so good, I just love that apple-ness of the flavor, and heating it up really makes it almost a different drink.

How about some Hot Buttered Apple Cider?

So it’s the holidays, we’re going to parties and such, and maybe the kids are feeling a little left out. Or maybe Uncle Chris doesn’t drink, or is driving everyone home tonight. Let me show you this delicious, rich, buttery hot cider that will make everyone happy to gather around the table and enjoy a glass or two. After all, doesn’t every want to drink a fancy special drink?

You need-

2 sticks of softened butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

2 teaspoons of vanilla

Add all the ingredients a  bowl and mix well, I used a whisk, but a spoon works just as well.

This mixture will keep in the fridge up to a month in a covered container.

To serve- add one heaping tablespoon to a glass. I dipped my glass mug in water then into cinnamon sugar.

Warm your cider and get it piping hot, then add to the mug. Stir around well to melt the butter, enjoy with a dollop of whipped cream and cinnamon sticks if you’d like.

You can also sprinkle a bit of the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the whipped cream for extra prettiness.
