Lemon Lime Stamped Kitchen Towels
You know that I love to use items that you can find around the house to make crafty stuff.
There is just something so cool about making arts and crafts with found or recycled things.
How about we stamp with something found in the kitchen?
I have shown you how to stamp kitchen towels using stamps before.
What about something that’s not supposed to be a stamp?
How about we make some darling, refreshing, bright, and colorful towels using….Lemons and Limes!!
Not only are the colors on these lemon lime stamped kitchen towels, pretty and bright, they will make your kitchen feel so fresh and lovely!
These are really easy to make,
and they smell wonderful while you are making them!
I used these Flour Sack towels, they are really nice to use. First, I opened them up, cut them in half, then sewed a quick hem along the cut side.
They cost about $5 for the pack of five.
You’ll need some fabric paint. I have a good amount of Yudu fabric paint and I really like it, it lasts for a long time with washings.
I used yellow and lime colors.
Then, you just need some lemons and limes.
One each should do.
Cut them in half, then put them on some paper towels to absorb some of the juice. You want them somewhat dry.
Place the paint on a paper plate, and then dip your lemon or lime into it. Dab off the extra paint in another spot on the plate.
Make sure you have something absorbent under your towel, and begin stamping.
I kind of went all over with the stamping overlapping the yellow and green stamped images.
The drier the citrus fruit, the better the images come out. You need very very little paint on them.
It looks great when you can see all the details of the fruit come out in the stamping.
Have some fun, go a little crazy or be more reserved in adding a lot or a little stamping.
Once you are done, allow them to dry.
Then, toss the towels into a hot dryer, or iron them on your iron’s cotton setting to set the paint.
Hang them up in your kitchen, light a citrus candle and feel how airy these make your kitchen seem!
