Low Carb Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
Here at CMIY we are still celebrating PIE DAY, March 14th .
You know, 3.14.
So today, I’m bringing you a SAVORY pie.
Hmm, didn’t think about that, did you? I love surprising you!
How about this delicious, scrumptious, absolutely YUMMY Low Carb Bacon Cheeseburger Pie?
This is the kind of pie my hubby likes. He is a meat and potatoes kind of man and loves hamburger!
Wanna know the best part? It’s low carb!
This pie is made so easily it practically throws itself together!
First, you need a medium onion. Chop that up, and toss it in a skillet to soften it.
Add about 1-1/2 pounds of ground beef. I typically cook with ground turkey, so this was a treat for us. Substitute ground turkey or pork in as you like.
Add in 1/2 tsp of liquid smoke seasoning and 1 Tablespoon worchestershire sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
In a large bowl, put your meat and onion mix.
I used CARBQUIK baking mix, this is a mix that is low in carbs and can be substituted for Bisquick with the same amounts.
Add 3/4 cup of CARBQUIK to your meat mixture, then add 3 egg yolks. (Use 2 whole eggs if you are not using egg whites.)
To this mixture, add 3/4 cup of half and half, and 1-1/2 cups of shredded cheese. I used a colby jack mix.
Spray a pie plate with cooking spray, then add the mixture to the plate. Spread evenly in the plate and top with the shredded cheese.
Cook at 350 degrees about 35 minutes.
Let it set for about 5-10 minutes out of the oven.
Top with shredded lettuce, tomato and bacon.
Serve and enjoy!

- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 3/4 cup CARBQUIK
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 3 egg whites
- 2 cups shredded cheese- 1 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup separated
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon worchestershire
- 1/2 tsp smoke seasoning.
