Makeover Those Clear Glass Vases
Hello! I have to tell you, I am so happy to have this little craft to share with you today. I found myself eye to eye with a clearance sticker on some clear glass vases. $2 – what? – just $2!! I tell you I am a sucker for clearance stuff. So I saved about $2.45 on each vase. YAY!! oh what a deal, I am such a great saver, what a great find!! whoo hooo ( this is the celebration going on in my head)…. moments later, when I get home…. great, now what am I going to do with them? oh yeah, sure I can leave them alone. BORING and not very attractive. Who wants to see the ugh.ly part of FAKE flower stems? NOT ME!!! not me..
we recently renovated my office and created a better flow, moving my desk into a narrow section and adding a new sitting room in what used to be my office. I am in love with how it flows now. we bought new furniture and are using some unused things we’ve had around the house. I am looking for decorations to add, but have to be careful because it has a brick floor. I found out very quickly – klutzy minion- that this jute protects the vase and it didn’t break!
You only need some jute, tacky glue and your vase. I used a dowel to rub the glue over the vase, you could use your fingers, or a brush as well.
Start your wrapping above the bottom of the vase, then work a few strands down to the bottom. Then wrap around and start your wrapping, keeping it snug and close as you wrap. You will have control over how tight you wrap it, just don’t get too caught up in trying for perfection, this is rustic decor.
For now, I have left my vase plain. I am thinking on some burlap as a bow and perhaps hanging a few small shells to hang from the bow. Plain looks pretty good as well.
JUTE there it is!!
