Monsterously Adorable Halloween Decor

Hello! Hello my friends! I am here to start the month of October off with a bang! O.K., yes, technically, today is Oct.2. HOWEVER, it’s also an off-post day for me. Typically, I post twice a week, and here today, you are already getting a bonus from me! Isn’t that terrific? Yes, I am so excited! Halloween is so spectacularly fun to me. I adore creating spooky stuff, fun stuff and items that just have holiday spirit. I want to give you as much Halloween as you can stand.

You are here because you need inspiration for Halloween, whether it’s décor, food, crafts, party stuff, etc… that’s what I’m here to share.

Today, I have some super super-cute and really adorable….. party decor items – Monsterously Adorable Halloween Decor. Now, one of the things I love about Halloween is that it’s personalized. You decide if you want cute, goofy, fun stuff – OR, if you want creepy, spooky, scary stuff. Or, you can mix and match them. I mean it’s your decision, just create what you like, right?

I assume that this is more for young children, but I will try not to assume that someone older won’t just love them to bits.

The paper embellishments (I believe)  are from both My Little Shoebox and from DieCuts With A View.  I used strips of a border sheet for wrapping the pails.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the monsters – using the Cricut Mini Monsters Cartridge. I love this cart, and I love that I could create my own design with the monsters too.

Here are the monsters, I cut them at 3 inches across – I sized them in Cricut Craft Room, not height, which is usually how Cricut Craft Room sizes things, so watch that.

I only did two layers for each monster, and then I added wiggle eyes. Buy them online or find those in your craft store.

Break off some bamboo skewers – you can find these online or at the dollar store. I cut off enough so that my skewers were about 8 inches tall. You can also cut them with kitchen scissors.

Hot glue half a styrofoam ball into the tiny bucket. I got the buckets from Provo Craft, but you can buy them online or at your local craft or dollar store.
I liked the white base color.

Take a border strip, and wrap it around the bucket so that it overlaps. Hot glue or Glue Dot it in place.

Take some colored twine – mine is from The Twinery – and loop it several times.

Use a mini clothes pin and clip it onto your bucket with a phrase cut out and the looped ribbon.

Fill with any kind of filler, candy corn or crimped paper.
