Out of This World Cricut Scrapbook Layout
Every once in a while, I get an idea in my head and just have to create to get that idea done.
If I don’t I move along on other projects, while that idea nags at me, I often find I don’t like the other projects I’m creating, because the idea project just takes too much space up in my head.
I have an entire week of double-page scrapbook layouts planned for you! How exciting!
I’m a big Cricut fan. I like detailed die cuts. I like cutting out to the size I want and the color I want. I like having the machine at my finger tips.
One of my favorite things to do are to make scenes with my Cricut cuts. I love love doing this.
And sometimes I wish I had little boys to create for. Because I have several ideas this week to share with you, and most of them are boy themed. Little boys are so much fun to craft for, I think because it can be hard to find ideas for them. So, I came up with this cute Out of This World Cricut Scrapbook Layout.
I am hoping to inspire you to create your own landscape-style layouts, to see how much fun they can be.
One tip I have for you is to take some time to look at your Cricut cartridges. Imagine your base, I am using two 12″ x12″ layouts, but use whatever size you use for your scrapbooks.
Open up your Cricut cartridge, and see what images you have. Sketch out your design. Sometimes it’s easier to visualize it drawn than to try to do it all in your head.
If you go to Cricut.com, search your cartridge, then in the details tab below the images, you can click the online handbook and see the entire handbook in a PDF file. This is a lifesaver and helps to figure out all the cuts as well.
As you can see, I chose this Space Party cartridge.
I used mostly the images on the cartridge. I used bold bright colors and a strong contrast between the black outline and the solid-colored cardstock.
You can create fun rocks by cutting oval shapes from cardstock, crumpling it up and smoothing it out again. I used chalks to highlight and add color to them.
I used black and purple to match the layout.
Have fun creating your layout. I used foam tape to pop up the UFO and the astronaut to highlight them.
This layout has a lot of dimension and layers without a lot of thickness, so it will sit in your album nicely.
Here is the free Craft Room file for this layout.
