Paper Tube Treat Containers

Hello! I have a wonderful recycled project for your Halloween gift giving today. You can use paper tubes to create treat holders that are easy and fast to make. With just a little tape, twine and a little creativity, you can make enough paper tube treat containers for a whole class full of kids.

You will need -

Paper Towel Tubes (I used 1 tube for 2 containers. You can use toilet paper tubes but go with wrapped candy instead.) Cut the paper towel tubes in half into two pieces.

Washi tape

glue

plastic spiders

candy

Cricut Robotz font from the Cricut Robotz Cartridge

Cricut Expression Machine

The first thing I did after cutting the tubes in half was to glue one edge totally together.

I used some binder clips to hold the edges while the glue was drying. I also pinched the whole edge shut, even to the ends to get a sharp crease.

Next, I filled the container with candy. You can also use wrapped candy or small toys. (This would be great for a class party gift.)

Take your container, and make the end a glued end, but this time, perpendicular to your other end. One end horizontal, one end vertical. Don’t stress, it doesn’t have to be totally completely perfect.

This is what they look like now.

Here is the fun part, get out your washi tape and add some decor. I used two colors on each end, but you can go crazy. (Hey – These would make awesome sports treats too, with your favorite team colors.)

Next, I added on the boo! and eek! cut from my Cricut Expression Machine, using the Cricut Robotz Cartridge font.

Lastly I hot glued on a double bow of black jute, cut off the ring part of the spider and hot glued that to the center of the bow.

How fantastic are these? They are terribly cute, I think!!
