It’s no secret that I love peanut butter. But I don’t think I’ve told you, I often mix creamy and crunchy peanut butter. I’m the only one in this house that likes crunchy peanut butter, I mean, what’s not to love?

Creamy is so smooth, and I think has a little bit different flavor-maybe it’s a little sweeter? Then crunchy, it has those bits of peanuts that make you taste the roast of the nut, the warm rich nuttiness of it.

I love to make sandwiches for lunch or a quick breakfast with both creamy and crunchy peanut butter.

So I was very happy to find this new  Peter Pan Simply Ground Peanut Butter! With no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, I knew it was a good choice to make. Plus it’s a no stir peanut butter, no oil sitting at the top waiting to splash out onto your brand new blouse that you put on 10 minutes ago, just before making a sandwich for a quick breakfast.

Peter Pan Simply Ground Peanut Butter has the best of both creamy and crunchy peanut butter, creamy with smaller bits of peanut, so you don’t have to buy two jars!

Of course you know I shop at Walmart, and I found this yummy peanut butter high up on the shelf.

I saw that there are two kinds. Regular and Honey Roast. Oh yeah. I love Honey Roast peanuts! joy!

I wanted to share my recipe for an easy and delicious Peanut Butter Cloud Pie. The peanut butter mixes with cool whip to create a cloud like topping, with little tiny bits of crunch in it from the peanuts. Underneath the creamy cloud is bananas enrobed in chocolate ganache, all nestled into a graham cracker crust.

I wanted to share this recipe today because with the holidays coming up, we make a lot of pies to share. At our holiday celebrations we always have people who like a variety of pies, or don’t like the traditional pumpkin, so I love to have a few other kinds of pie- cream, fruit or even nut, to go along with the celebration.

Ingredients needed-

Graham cracker crust, the larger 10 inch size.

1 cup of Peter Pan Simply Ground Peanut Butter

1 cup dark chocolate chips- semi sweet are fine

1/2 cup half and half

1 container of cool whip

two bananas

1/2 cup chocolate chips

ziploc baggie/parchment paper

whipped cream

In a microwave safe container, add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of half and half.

DSC_0008

Microwave on high heat about 30 seconds, stir well then put back in another 30 seconds.

Remove and stir about 1 minute, until chocolate has melted and is smooth.

Pour half that mix into your mouth- uh- I mean, the graham cracker crust- try to not eat heaping spoonfuls of the chocolaty goodness.

Slice two bananas and layer into crust.

DSC_0011

Spoon the remaining chocolate over the bananas and place in fridge to cool about 15 minutes.

In a separate bowl add your one cup of Simply Ground Peanut Butter. Look at all those delectable little bits!

DSC_0014

Lightly mix in about 1/2 cup of cool whip to loosen the peanut butter. When it has gotten lighter and easier to mix, add in your container of cool whip.

Add the peanut butter mixture into the pie and refrigerate about 3 hours.

In another microwave safe bowl, add your 1/2 cup chocolate chips, microwave to melt.

Add the melted chocolate to a ziploc baggie and cut the tip off the corner of the bag.

On the parchment paper, make artistic looking flowers. Make a couple extra for breakage. Allow to cool until solid again.

When ready to serve, add swirls of whipped cream on the pie. Then add the decorative chocolate flowers to some or all of the whip cream swirls. So pretty!

Cut into the pie and see the yummy layers. Chocolate, banana, and the cloud like peanut butter filling! Elvis would love this!

I also wanted to share a quick and not cheesy gift you could bring along. Wouldn’t a hostess just love you if you brought this along with the pie?

I combined a jar of Peter Pan Simply Ground with a Jar of Marshmallow topping. DIY FlufferNutter sandwiches, a delicious treat! Do you like Fluffernutters? Boy do I!

I love the idea of a little pick me up gift like this. We’re going to gift these jars to one of my daughter’s favorite teachers who just adores peanut butter! Isn’t this cute.

Here’s how to make your own.

First, get your jars together, and put them into a clear plastic gift bag. Tie the top with a little twine.

To create the peanuts, draw a figure 8 on the back of your tan cardstock.

Connect the two sides of the 8 and then cut out.

Use a brown marker to draw wiggle lines down the peanut, then again across the peanut.

Use brown chalk to shadow the side of the peanut.

For the tag, print out your greeting. Cut into a strip and trim off the top edges. Add a hole punch, tie on twine and a twine bow.

Add the peanut cutouts to the tag with some popdots.

Add a ribbon bow and a flower to the top of the giftwrap. Hang your tag.

What a cute and creative gift idea!
