Peppermint Valentine Heart Pops
When that 50% off rack comes up after Christmas, I like to stock up.
These little mini candy canes are totes adorbs! And, who doesn’t like a lollipop?
Minty and creamy with the white candy bark, these yummy peppermint Valentine heart pops treats are a great way to occupy a chilly February weekend with the kiddos.
To make these darling lollipops, you need…
Two small candy canes, some white almond bark, sprinkles and a few paper straws.
I like the paper straws because they are purty. But they are also sturdy, hey I rhymed!!
They are super easy to make too.
Melt your almond bark. This is called white chocolate if you buy it in chips form.
I melt mine in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time until it is smooth but not too hot.
That means you might have to stir it up a lot to make sure you distribute the heat evenly when the chips are beginning to melt.
On a sheet of parchment paper, add a dollop of melted almond bark, stick the straw into it, this becomes the base.
Take the wrappers off two candy canes, and place them against the straw like this, into a heart shape.
Fill in the middle of the candy canes with the almond bark. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and I like the thick amount, it makes a better lollipop and isn’t too thin. Plus, it tastes yummy.
While the chocolate is warm, sprinkle on your sprinkles, glitter, nonpareils and toppings.
I used heart sprinkles and pink edible glitter.
Let them chill for about a hour or so in a cool room.
Then remove them from the parchment paper.
If you want to dress them up, tie on some curling ribbon in pretty colors.
Grouping them in a jar makes a pretty lollipop bouquet!
