Quick Bracelets For Mom
As a mom, I think handmade stuff from the kids is great. A handmade card, all markered and drawn, with fun stickers that the kids seem to slather on the card, words of love from their little minds written in chunky letters. Remind you of toddler days? Uh, seriously I still get these from the minions!
If you are an older kid, there really isn’t a whole lot out there for ideas of something pretty to gift to mom for her appreciation. And while I, as well as many other mom’s, appreciate bought gifts, cards and such, I do love something created for me so that I know my kiddo was thinking of me for more then 10 minutes. It takes a little more than that to make these, but they are still super quick, and you can customize them to mom’s favorite colors – quick bracelets for Mom.
These great bracelets are just so quick to make. You only need about a hour max to make a couple strands. And, you can decide how many strands to put on the bracelet.
All you need is some floss, beads, and a needle.
Cut a length of floss about 16 inches long. Tie a double knot about 4 inches from the end of the string.
Thread the needle on the other end, and use it to string the beads on. After each bead, tie a knot in the floss between the beads. Use as many beads as you need to make your bracelet, I think I used about 25. for a 7.5 inch bracelet. When you get better at stringing and beading, you can string on several beads and pull them down to knot one at a time.
When you have put on all your beads and knots, tie another double knot at the end of the bracelet, and trim off excess leaving a 4-inch piece of thread at the end.
Once you have as many beaded bracelets as you’d like, take all the end pieces and tie them into a single knot. Then, leave enough excess to tie the bracelet on. I used a bow to make a pretty look.
If you desire, you can add charms to jump rings that you add to several of the strands for a more personalized look.
