Quick Colorful Coin Purses
The other day, I had been sorting through my supplies and found a couple little coin purses that I thought I would give to my girls. Alizabeth always needs a little coin purse for school, she needs something to carry a little cash, or coins, or an emergency chocolate stash. I liked these, but they were simple and plain.
Along with the coin purses, I had a supply of stamps sitting out, and I love these big stamps from Tattered Angels, but rarely get to use them. I started tinkering around, and before I knew it, an hour had passed and I had two adorable little purses. I apologize for the lack of instructional photos, but I simply did not think about taking them while I was playing. I often get lost in the art of creation and before I know it, my creations are done and I am stuck trying to explain my process.
These are the supplies I used. Stamps by Tattered Angels- they don’t need a stamp block. Two purses from Maya Road. The thick waterproof markers from Faber-Castell, some Stazon ink, ablack sharpie and that was pretty much it. I used a couple letter stamps from Making Memories, but you can ink by hand lettering if you want.
I used the butterfly and the owl stamp from the same set. and the stazon is permanent on cloth.
I stamped them on the front..
And I stamped them on the back, a little off center for the butterfly..
Then I just colored them in. I did use a black sharpie for detailing. I really like the ‘sketchy’ feeling that the owl has..
I stamped the Whoo. and I added dots on the flap by just putting the tip of the marker to the fabric.
I wasn’t too worried about blending the colors in the butterfly. The bold bright colors make it stand out. I handwrote the word FLY, imperfect and cute.
thanks for checking out this super fun, and quick craft!
