Soft Pretzel Bites
Soft Pretzel Bites. I would never have guessed that I could transform simple Dinner Rolls into a delectable soft pretzel simply by adding one step into the baking process! That is so exciting to me. Our family LOVES fresh soft pretzels straight from the oven. All hot and lightly crispy with that soft bready inside and that lightly chewy texture. Heavenly! Dip them in a little cheese sauce or some spicy brown mustard for a flavor bonanza!
As a mom, I love to have healthier options for after school snacking, and I also love to teach my kids cooking ideas. These Soft Pretzel Bites are really pretty easy and they turned out great. Pretzels are one of those blank canvas foods that pair well with lots of ideas. Try different dipping sauces for example- what about a sweet chili sauce for an asian flair? Or Nutella for a sweet snack? Cut these little bites in half for a bun idea for a meatball slider. MMMM!! Or stuff them with a cube of cheese for a stuffed pretzel idea. There are so many ways to change these up, you could have a different snack idea every day!
These yummy little bites are easy to make, and you won’t have to search for unusual ingredients! The secret to their pretzel crust is a quick bath in a baking soda water mixture. That bath gives them a chewy thicker outside crust while allowing the inside to be tender.
Let’s talk Salt. Salt on these is pretty important and I looked at a lot of salts before I decided on a staple. I am using Kosher Salt, inexpensive but large enough to be correct pretzel salt, it’s a great choice. You can specially buy pretzel salt, as well, if you choose to!
