Say It with Cookies and Chocolate
I love making cookies.
I love making easy cookies.
Especially when those easy cookies get gobbled up by my family.
These sugar cookies topped with chocolate hearts are sooo sooo good.
And, they are soo soo easy!
You need some basic items for these.
I like store-bought sugar cookie dough. I alter it anyway, but it’s a quick start for these.
I remove the dough from the package, toss it in the mixer along with 1/2 cup of flour for one roll of dough.
I’m not selling for Walmart, but here is a link to see the size. It is the 16 oz. package.
I also add a big teaspoon of good-quality vanilla.
Typically, I like to make a good amount, so I use two rolls.
Mix in the flour until it is in the dough well.
Find a comfy spot, roll your dough into balls the size of walnuts. Then open a package of Valentine’s Sprinkles. Any sprinkle-y kind will do.
Push the dough down into the sprinkles so that you embed them into the ball.
Remove them and place them about 2 inches apart on the cookie tray, spread of course with parchment paper.
Have your minions open a bag of Dove chocolate hearts. I bought a couple of mixed bags, and we opened one then just kind of opened them as I needed to add to finish the cookies.
I used both milk and dark chocolates, both were a big hit.
Bake in your oven at 350 degrees F about 10-15 minutes until the cookies are just set and beginning to lightly brown on the edges.
Nom nom nom until your hearts content! They are melty at first when they come out of the oven, I suggest you let them cool a lot before packaging or layering.
I got thank you cards from the school admin for sending some of them in to school. They are a nice pick me up during a school day!
They are super simple and so sweetly pretty!
