Toadally Cute Cricut Scrapbook Layout
Today friends, I have another boyish layout. I created a layout like this a few years ago starring my daughter holding one of the toads from our yard.
The photos cracked me up. In one she is terrified, and in another she is so gentle with the little guy.
Every year we get some good-sized toads jumping around in the yard. The girls like to chase and catch them and then put them back under the shade of our hostas.
Being inspired this week by using scenes of die cuts, I wanted to share another variation.
This Toadally Cute Cricut Scrapbook Layout uses mini scenes.
I have added grass borders and circle backgrounds to hold frog/toad die cuts and the title.
This is also my only layout using patterned paper. As I have told you in the past, I like to use it as a unifier, something that will bring all the colors of the layout together.
But, I also warn that whole sheets of patterns can be too much and overwhelm your photos and your layout.
I love the use of strips, these strips ground the top border of grass, and help also ground the bottom scenes with the frogs.
You can see in the closer versions, that I have cut out these super-cute frogs. I used the Cricut cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up for the frogs. I have to say, it’s a fabulous cartridge for items. I use the accessory part the most often. I’m always finding little things I can cut out and add to my layouts.
You can also see that after I embossed the frogs and title. I added some darker green chalk to make the embossing stand out and give a little dimension to the frogs.
I also cut the circles and scalloped mats using the Cricut Font and Basic Shapes cartridge.
The grass is cut with Wild Card 2.
I used some wiggle eyes on my diecuts to make them more cute. I just love this fun and different layout.
