Treats Week – Day 4 – Hot Fudge Sauce
When I refer to hitting the sauce, this is the kind of sauce I’d like in my bowl! I think hot fudge sauce is one of the nicest ways to dress up a bowl of ice cream. Warm, melty, rich and chocolatey it is sure to be a hit as a gift. And you know, it’s not all that easy to find good hot fudge. Homemade always tastes that much better!
I have a super easy recipe for you, I love making ganache for my family, and this is just a little bit creamier version of my two ingredient ganache. Melt this over some ice cream, or dip it out of the jar with some cookies, it’s a super yummy treat.
The only ‘bad’ thing about this hot fudge, it goes fast, and your friends and family will be asking for more soon!
You’ll need…
1 1/2 cups milk- whole or 2%
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
4 cups chocolate chips (whatever variety – you could make this milk chocolate, peanut butter, butterscotch, peppermint, etc….)
Heat up the milk and heavy cream in a pan.
meanwhile, add your chocolate chips to a big enough bowl, you’ll want to leave stirring room.
Then, add your corn syrup and vanilla to the chocolate chips.
Once your cream mixture is super hot but not boiling, add it over top the chocolate chips.
Let it set for a moment, then begin to stir.
You’ll want to switch to a whisk.
At first it will be light brown, with bits in it, as you whisk, the brown will deepen.
That super dark color means the chocolate is melting nicely.
This is what it looks like as it finally melts and mixes all together. It’s done.
Wasn’t that easy? Now, where is that ice cream? Yum!!
I think gifting mason jars full of hot chocolate is definitely a good way to get on the NICE list. Just let your recipients know that they can gently heat the jar in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time to get their hot fudge hot.
Enjoy!

I wanted to know if you can use chocolate milk, or does it have to be white milk? I’m going to make this for Christmas Gifts. Thank You for sharing.
Hi Terry, I would make sure the chocolate milk is real milk, then proceed! Extra chocolatey!!
