A Walking Dead Zombie Christmas
I am sharing a very personal idea today.
Now, my daughter is extraordinarily musically talented. But her creativity with crafting, not so much.
She has been dating her boyfriend for a while now, and wanted to get him something for Christmas.
She came up with a fantastic idea months ago for his gift.
So I was understandably pleased when she came to me with the idea of making this Walking Dead Zombie Christmas present and creating labels for the idea.
Essentially, she wanted to create a Zombie Survival Kit, taking regular items and renaming them for survival.
I thought this was a fantastic idea and we jumped right in to come up with new names and uses for every day stuff.
We took ideas from The Walking Dead series, and Dead Island the Xbox game that both teens enjoy playing.
I Photoshopped some of the labels, and added instructions to others.
I gave it all to her to tape onto her gifts.
While I would have wrapped each item completely, I had to allow her to do this her way.
She is incredibly pleased with her gift.
After wrapping each gift in newspaper, she put them all into a black trash bag, and we added a masking tape sticker with DARYL, and CLAIMED on to the outside.
We’ll be wrapping the entire box again, with brown paper and red paint splatters and hand prints. She’s talking about a card, maybe one with a hint at the gift to come.
Body Armor: This is a Walking Dead T-shirt. Zombie Rope: Twizzlers. Detox pills: Jolly Ranchers.
Emergency Currency: Gold foil chocolate coins. Duct Tape: Bubble gum. Health Renewal Bar: Chocolate Bar. The Bag of Blood is liquid candy we found on Amazon.com
Exploding Flesh Bombs: Chicarrones (Pork Rinds). Land mines: Potato Chips. Insta-Fire Starters: Jalapeno Cheese Puffs. Flaming Spear: Hot Slim Jims
This Animal Skin is a fluffy blanket.
The sodas are wrapped in labels I found. The Stun Bomb is a pack of Hot Tamales. The Dehydrated Piranhas are Swedish Fish, and the Shrunken Side Kicks are Sour Patch Kids.
The Exploding Meat Bomb is a package of Slim Jims, and the Mini Dynamite Sticks are Sausage Sticks. The Heath Renewal Bar is a chocolate bar. The Land Mines are Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. The bandages are Air Heads, the Incendiary Grenades are tic tacs, and the Health Booster Drink is Wax Juice Bottles.
The Liquid Spider is silly string, the Toxic Waste candy is untouched. The Suicider Meat is Beef Jerky, and the Zombie Eyeballs are Jelly Eyeballs from Halloween.
At Halloween, we picked up a Zombie parts bag of Jelly Candy and separated them into baggies. I then made the Fingers, Feet, Brains and Ears labels.
The Flame Thrower Fuel is actually hot sauce.
Yes, it’s a LOT of food, but she got so excited she over-bought and had a lot of fun making this whole HUGE gift up for him.
I’d say he’s a lucky guy, having someone care this much to create this EPIC gift.
Sorry to his family, as this will always stand out in his mind of gifts received as one of the most creative and time-intensive gifts ever given.
By the way, we’ll be hosting him and his family for the day. Watching all as he opens this should be quite entertaining!
Thanks for taking a look, a creative moment in our holiday!
