Walking in a Winter Wonderland – White Winter Holiday Decor
It’s always wonderful to create pieces that will last a few months in my holiday home decor.
I find that as my minions get older, I am decorating more and more elegantly.
I’m using less colorful, cutesy items and leaning more towards monochromatic colors and subtle decor, like this white winter holiday decor piece.
I like these cute little houses, and they were about $1.79 each. They’re retty cute for such inexpensive little houses.
I got a little snowman too, because I wanted to make sure my house scene had a little life to it.
It’s ironic, because these houses probably began life as white houses, and here I am taking them back to it.
All you need are however many houses you want to paint, a little cheapie $.99 can of white spray paint. I like matte finish and, if you want, a little glitter.
Because what wintery items don’t look just beautiful with a little extra sparkle?
In a well ventilated room, or outside, spray paint your pieces. I spray one side at a time, then I do a second coat for full coverage.
On your last coat of paint, sprinkle the glitter all over the houses. The paint acts like glue, and the glitter will stick to them nicely.
I displayed mine in a vintage cake glass stand. I used a little bit of the snow blanket fiber fill stuff.
I layered the snow blanket a few times and tore off pieces and relayered them here and there.
Then I added the houses and little snow guy.
I also found some of these little bottle brush trees at the store and put them in too.
You can leave the top off or put it on.
Either way, it’s a darling little display piece!
