I Warned You..More Craft Stick Ornament Ideas
Yes, I did warn you that I would be creating more posts with craft stick ornaments! Yes I did, but I still think it’s pretty cool, and I think you’ll be O.K. with it. Since they are all so very different looking. I like saving money, and getting multiple uses out of a supply that comes with a great deal of pieces. yeah, that’s it, I just don’t want to store them, sure…
Seriously though, I am all about exploring an idea until I feel I’ve used it up. I love that there ARE so many ideas, and I’m sure given time, I could come up with a bunch more ideas to continue this trend.
I have gone from almost completely flat ornaments, to 2D, and now to share with you today 3D.
Again, I am sticking close to my nature/natural theme this year and using twine and greenery.
Here is the bottom of the sled. I used 7 thin popsicle sticks, and cut off two that fit just across to hold the sled together. I then glued on two large sticks for the sled runners.
View of the top, paint this baby red after the glue has cooled.
Adhere on a cut out paper Santa, and a family quote, some greenery and an old snowflake ornament, topped with jingle bells. I hot glued my twine hanger on the top as well.
BTW – YES I am that girl who actually saves broken ornaments, or things that have fallen off decorations. I will reuse them at some point in time.
For the stars – glue just the ends of 5 sticks together, trying to keep them as even as possible.
Wrapping the twine around the stars took a little figuring out. I first wrapped just the tips of the star, gluing the ends into place, then I came back and wrapped the twine around the star in a 5 point pattern. It does leave a bit of space open, I’m O.K. with that.
Then I added greenery, some glitter stems and even an old metal holly/bell piece.
This piece I had some felt stickers that were glittered, and I added an old music scroll. I love the little touches of red that makes the ornament stand out.
Well worth some beautiful and inexpensive ornaments for your holiday creating this year!
