Washi Tape Decorated Ear Buds
Plain ear buds are so boring! I know, you can buy colored varieties, ones with big embellishments on the outside of the ear piece, and such, but still, one color, just not fun. Boring. Plain. Blah.
I look at my minions wearing their ear buds, listening to music and think to myself, that could be fun, dressing up those ear buds into something colorful. What is Washi Tape? it’s a super fancy sounding paper tape. Like masking tape, with designs. It tends to be translucent, and you can find it at home stores and craft stores.
Not long ago I shared using Perler Beads to decorate ear buds. Fashion your ear buds.
They were fun to make, took some time, but they have lasted months! MONTHS! I used to go buy new buds almost every month for one of the minions. So let’s try these buds and see if we can create a lighter version, that is ‘kewl’, and get a prolonged use out of them. Washi tape decorated ear buds!
This is a seriously easy project. You just need some ear buds, and washi tape. Maybe a little clear nail polish if your washi isn’t terribly sticky.
Take a 1/2 inch piece of washi tape and wrap it around itself over the ear bud cording. I started at the bottom by the plug and wrapped the tape in pieces.
If you find that your tape isn’t sticking to itself at the end of the wrap, dab a little clear nail polish on it so that it stays adhered. Pick any color palette you have or want.
This is an easy, fast, fun craft. Great for teens, tweens and older kids!
